On successful completion of the process, the trademark is granted registration. A registered trademark is valid for 10 years. After 10 years, it will lose its legally enforceable rights, and it will get Abandoned for non-renewal. And, in such condition, any one can apply and take over it. For Renewal of a mark, an application on Form TM-R will be filed. Required documents for renewal are all the documents being filed with the trademark registry along with an authority letter and the Govt. Fee. For renewal of a trademark the registry sends a notice for Renewal on form O3. A trademark can be renewed before 6 months from its expiry date.
